Utility Helpline’s own Fiona Howe crowned top sales professional at prestigious energy awards
Utility Helpline's business development manager Fiona Howe has been crowned ‘Sales Professional of the Year’ at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA) 2015.
Fiona overcame tough competition from some of the UK's biggest energy consultancies to win the national award.
Success was all the sweeter because she was nominated by her clients, who recognised the hard work she puts in to ensuring they purchase gas and electricity more competitively and transparently. Her case was then considered by two expert judging panels, which recognised Fiona’s wealth of industry knowledge, commitment to quality and exceptional customer service.
In a complex market, where business customers can feel confused and overwhelmed when purchasing energy, this award focuses on honesty, integrity and hard work – rewarding those who go over and above what is expected.
On winning the award Fiona said: “I can’t believe it, it’s such an honour to be recognised like this. And to win against some of the sector's right and brightest is absolutely fantastic.
“Everything we do is geared towards our customers. We don’t have a list of preferred suppliers, we go to the whole market place and gather information on all the products and services on offer. We make sure that our clients get the right contract for their needs, and in some cases the product is more important than getting the cheapest price. This is the advice which our customers value.”
The win comes a year after Fiona was shortlisted for the individual sales award and Utility Helpline was nominated for the ‘Small Consultancy of the Year’ award at TELCA 2014.
Managing Director Richard Bonelle said: “after just missing out on an award last year the whole team were keen to taste success in 2015. There is no doubting that Fiona deserves this award, she goes over and above what is expected every single day.”
He continued: “as a small brokerage, this is an incredible win for Utility Helpline. It shows that our small and close-knit team can compete with the biggest consultancies, which employ hundreds of sales people.”
This ‘Sales Professional of the Year’ award recognises individual excellence in the field of energy sales and is sponsored by leading recruitment agency McLean Ross.
Utility Helpline adheres to the The TPI (Third Part Intermediary) Code of Practice, which ensures the highest standards of transparency and professionalism in energy procurement.
