Utility Helpline offering bill checks and piggy banks at Chamber Expo

Utility Helpline hopes to encourage more energy savings by offering free business energy bill checks at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Expo on Thursday. We will also be giving away free Utility Helpline piggy banks that can be used to store some of your energy savings. Energy Manager Richard Bonelle and New Business Development Manager Fiona Howe will be hosting a stand the expo, where they will be offering energy advice and signing businesses up for a energy bill health check. Held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, the expo is one of the chamber’s biggest events. It is free to attend, with free tea and coffee, free parking and free Wi-Fi. There’s some great seminars to attend for free as well.

Utility Helpline’s bill checking service

An energy bill health check is a fast, desk-based service where one of our energy experts looks over your energy bills to try and spot any mistakes that could be costing you money. A massive proportion of business leaders admit that they rarely or never look at their energy bills, and some mistakes can be easy to spot. We look at how businesses are using energy and make sure they are on the right tariff. Our experts will also check that you aren’t being overcharged on estimated readings and confirm if you are eligible for any VAT or Climate Change Levy reductions. These mistakes happen more frequently that you might think, and if we manage to spot one then it can really pay off. If, for example, we spot an estimated billing error, then we can go back to the supplier and claim back a cash lump sum for the amount you have been overcharged through the length of the contract. During an energy bill check we can also check to see whether you are overpaying on your energy, and whether it is worth seeking a better deal elsewhere. Richard Bonelle said: “An energy bill review is the easiest way for companies to save on their energy. When we have found errors in the past we have been able to claim back thousands of pounds for our clients. It is fast and free, and there’s nothing to lose. “We are quite a new member of the chamber, but we look forward to working closely with other member businesses. From events that we’ve attended, and speaking to chamber staff, it is clear that getting control of energy is an important business priority and we hope we can work with some businesses to make that happen.”
